This Weekend in Bossier City: Impressed by Derek Sarvis Opening Reception

Looking for a cultural night out this weekend? Join us Friday, June 6th at the East Bank Gallery for the opening reception of Impressed, a captivating new exhibition by local artist Derek Sarvis.

Presented by the Bossier Arts Council, this free event invites art lovers and the community to experience Sarvis’ latest collection — a compelling blend of acrylic paintings and ceramic works that marry the energy of impressionism, the spontaneity of abstract expressionism, and the functionality of 3D form.

Sarvis’ paintings pulse with rich color fields and contemporary landscapes, while his ceramic vessels echo the same textures and rhythms found on canvas. Together, the works offer a layered experience that’s both visual and tactile — and definitely worth seeing in person.
